We started a new sermon series titled, “The Road,” with the distinctive focus on “the Highway of Holiness”. This Highway of Holiness, journey, or path is the way the righteous from this world enter to eternal life. Pastor Selena emphasized this Highway can only be found by following God. Only the redeemed will travel God’s highway; they will be protected from the wicked travelers and harmful animals. God is preparing a way for His people (those who walk in His ways) to travel to His home, and He will walk with us. God never stops at simply pointing the way; He is always beside us as we go.
As we travel on this journey, we need to be sure we are living and pursuing a redeemed life and not just a religious life. I say this because anyone can be religious. You can be religious about football, baseball, exercise, but in order to be redeemed you need to exhibit the Spirit of Christ 100 percent. The definition of “religious” is (1) relating to or manifesting faithful acknowledged reality; – religious attitudes. Redeemed, on the other hand, means to be freed by payment of ransom or to be freed from the consequences of sin.
I do not know about you, but I work at this every day. Each time I walk into the Well, whether the Downtown or the North Campus, I am so inspired because the message hits me over the head like a sledgehammer. I work hard in getting that message into my heart. I also try and exhibit my redeemed attitude on the outside as well as nourish build upon my redeemed heart 24/7, 365 days a year.
One thing which always need to be on our minds is “There is no place for religion on the Road to Redemption. “When we know whom we are, we will know what to do”.
Blessings to all.
