January 1, 2019

A new year, a new you, new happenings, new prayers, and new goals. With tons of new beginnings and agendas, what are you seeking? Who are you seeking? Jeremiah 29:12-13, the scripture for our newest series, expresses, “In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly. You will find me.”
Pastor Selena began the series Seek with The Well family, focusing on the word Restore which is defined as repair or renovate. Our God is there to restore us through all the enemy does to destroy us. When we seek God through prayer and fasting, He will restore what the enemy has taken. Joel 1:14 announces, “a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring the leaders and all the people of the land into the Temple of the Lord your God and cry out to Him there.”
The idea of fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose. This time of famine creates a stronger bond between you and God and can lead to the restorative feeling you may need to grow for your spiritual journey. Along with the process comes questions like, what is fasting exactly? What do I fast? When do I fast? What can I expect? Why do I fast? The Well has some great tools to help along this collective journey such as Fasting by Jentezen Franklin, 21 Days of Breakthrough Prayer by Jim Maxim, or online daily prayers at http://www.strategicrenewel.com/21days/
We will also be having a Prayer Night Wednesday January 2nd, 2019 at 6pm at The Well, feel free to come and go and seek God for wisdom you may need.
“SoI will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Joel 2:25
Although one locust may seem like a small paperclip-sized no big deal, many locusts can destroy vegetation down to dust. Each choice we make in life may not seem like a big deal but eventually they can become a destructive swarm. God promises He will restore us. Seek Him and you will find His love and unending grace. I am praying for you to seek God’s restoration through the year 2019!
