Grateful thoughts. Grateful motives. Grateful actions. We have the power to be grateful everyday by acting upon what God has asked us to do. This past Sunday Pastor Dylan spoke on how acting upon our grateful attitudes is another step in our relationship with God, and what He wants us to accomplish in our daily lives.
“To act grateful means to live your life in a way that reflects your faith in God and love for other.” In Hebrews 11:1-6 the Word reminds us that those who seek and draw near to God shall be rewarded. Pastor Dylan then reminded us that our God is not only a promise maker, He is a promise keeper. We must step into faith just like we jump into water. Now, when we jump in we know we are either going to sink or swim. If we’re jumping in wearing floaties, are we really swimming? No, we’re floating. We, stepping into action of what God wants us to, has called us to, or has asked us to do, must take off our spiritual floaties and JUMP IN! As scary as it may feel, we must have faith God has got us. He will reward us for jumping in. God never lets us down; we let Him down by not jumping or stepping into faith at all.
James 2:14-20 “But I say, How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds?” Sometimes getting so caught up in praying and talking about the Lord overtakes what truly matters - doing what is prayed for and what the Lord would do! Jesus did not only die to save us, he died to use us. The Holy Spirit is within us, it gives us the power to quit living in fear, step out into faith and DO. “Faith without deeds is useless.”
1 John 3:18-19 actions speak louder than our words.
Luke 6:46 and John 14:15 we are either all in or all talk.
The love of the Lord will lead us to stepping in faith. By having a grateful attitude, thoughts, and motives, nothing hateful can prevent us from stepping into what we believe we can do. By loving others we can show the Lord to more and more people. Love, does.
