We started a new sermon series titled, “so will I”, with a specific focus of “extravagant love and extreme submission”. God views us as the crown of His creation, but I have difficulty believing I am that important to God. Pastor Selena spoke about how all things on the earth accept, believe, and understand that concept. Of all God’s creation, we (humans) are the only part of God’s creation able to choose whether we will believe in Him on chose not to believe.
So, if I say that I ‘choose God’, where do I put Him on my priority list? Do I have a full life response to Him?
Pastor Selena talked about how all our talents could be taken away from us at a moment’s notice. We really don’t have anything we can offer God commensurate with what He gives us. The only thing we can offer is our worship of Him, to Him.
There is one, God, who knows me inside and out; who knows every small thing about me. Do I sometimes forget He knows me so well and every small piece is so very important to Him?
In our flesh, or as I think about it, “as ourselves”, we don’t always do what is right. But, if you have given yourself fully to God, the Holy Spirit lives in you and becomes inseparable from you. The enemy cannot get through if we are totally submitted and committed to God.
I need to reset myself at times and be reminded to listen to God’s spirit, and to let Him lead me rather than poorly trying to lead myself - - He alone cares for my best interests, and He alone knows me fully, and yet knowing all of my weaknesses He still loves me! Thank you, Lord, for never giving up on me.
